The race was well run and the weather held out for us; given the day before we had snow showers. The fan fare was spectacular and the race medal is one that I will treasure.
This year was extra special. We not only raised $560 that will go directly toward music scholarships for youth in Tippecanoe county but was also surprised by my family who came to support me during the race. It was certainly a memorable and extra special event in 2011.
Thank you again to all of our SAMIs Groupies and to my wonderfully supportive family. I can't wait to see what 2012 has in store.

You can show your support in may different ways:Those who make a monetary contribution to the race will become an "official" groupie of SAMI (see the list of Groupies - click on the "Become a Groupie" tab), receive a one-of-a-kind marathon souvenir, and receive a letter of appreciation from the President of SAMI. Future Activities/Events: We are in the process of identifying events located in Lafayette/West Lafayette Indiana that are geographically co-located with the SAMI organization and are interested in partnering to co-sponsor a fun run or competitive race to raise awareness and funding for SAMI programs. What is the SAMI Tour? As a strong advocate for youth education in music, culture, and the arts, the 2010 SAMI Tour is committed to supporting and promoting these efforts in the mid-north region of Indiana through individual and group running events. It is likely you know someone in your own life that has left an invaluable impression with their musical or artistic talents — perhaps you or your spouse, relative, coworker, neighbor or friend — someone in your life’s circle who has brought stories to life through lyrics, culture, and art that have provided long lasting memories and joy.
What is a SAMIs Groupie? This is a group of supporters that follows and provides support (through words of encouragement and monetary donations) to SAMI runners throughout the year. To show your support click on "Become a Groupie."
What is RACE for SAMI? The purpose of racing for SAMI is raise awareness and funds for youth education in music in the Tippecanoe County and surrounding communities.
